About

A B O U T
I’ve always been creative and always loved art. I discovered photography in high school by accident. I decided then that that’s what I wanted to be. I wanted to make a living doing photography, how, I wasn’t sure. In college my art teachers were purists and wanted me to be a painter, not a photographer. I took all the arts, drawing, painting, sculpture and color theory. After graduating with a BFA, I was offered a full scholarship for my Masters Degree. I accepted wholeheartedly thinking that I would teach, do my “art photography” and show in galleries. As I was graduating, my sculpture teacher recommended that I apply for an assistant position at a photo studio in Manhattan. I was accepted. There began my focus to becoming a studio-advertising photographer. After 4 years of assisting in New York, I had learned from some of the best photographers in the world. I later moved to Southern California where I opened up my studio in 1985. Transitioning from large format photography to high end digital imagery was fairly easy for me, as I had discovered the Phase One camera. To this day as I incorporate the highest technology to my images, my talent and training as an artist is felt throughout my work. I love to create still lifes. Food and jewelry are my two most favorite subjects as they are art pieces ready to be captured in time.
